CALL FOR ABSTRACTS DEADLINE: OCTOBER 15, 2011

THEME: Nursing Innovation: Promoting, Creating, Embracing

The Ethel Johns Research Forum for 2012 will focus on Innovation in Nursing, with four main subthemes:

 

  • Social Justice, Political Action and Advocacy: political action; evidence-informed practice and policy; health equity
  • Culture and Diversity: inclusiveness; accessibility; participatory approaches
  • Partnerships and Capacity Building: practice initiatives; engagement strategies; practice and academic partnerships; knowledge exchange; building networks
  • Environment: workplace health; environmental health; global health

 

The objective of the Forum is to provide the opportunity to explore ways in which we all can shape Innovation in Nursing.


Abstracts are invited for Paper (podium), Poster OR Project presentations from all contexts of nursing practice. Please identify which of the sub-themes named above is most relevant to your abstract.

All forms of scholarly inquiry in nursing are welcome and encouraged. Please Identify whether your abstract is for a Paper (podium) or a Poster presentation and using the following headings:

Title

Background to Study/Inquiry

Purpose of Study/Inquiry

Methodology/Methods, Analytical Approach

Findings/Implications

 

For Project abstracts please state the Title, and explain the Issue/Focus or Purpose in the first paragraph. Briefly describe the manner in which the study or issue was addressed and the findings, conclusions or solutions. Clearly suggest ideas about the possible relevance of your work for Nurses in other settings and contexts. Authors are expected to clearly outline the key learning objectives for their presentations. Use 12 point Times New Roman regular font. Use upper case lettering only if applicable.

Submit your abstract by October 15 to June Kaminski via the abstract intake volunteer at barbaraboyle@shaw.ca.  Confirmation will be sent to the primary author’s e-mail address provided. Keep this information for future reference and for any correspondence with the conference organizers.
